Chiba Sharks Cricket Club - LogoMr. Hasib Rehman, the founder and first club captain of started the ’Chiba Sharks Cricket club’ known as ‘Ichihara Cricket Club’ in 2003. Over the years the club grew and evolved into becoming ‘Ichihara Sharks’ in 2005 and from season 2009, the club is known as the ‘Chiba Sharks Cricket Club’. The club is a diverse bunch of players sharing goals, highs and lows of playing cricket in Japan. The club organizes the trainings at an indoor facility in nearby Kashiwa.

The Chiba Sharks CC mainly plays in two competitions, the Japan Cricket League and the T20 Japan Cup. Previously the club has also played the Kanto Cricket League but has currently stopped playing KCL because of a busy schedule. The clubs season runs between Early April and the end of August, with finals through the following month.

The Japan Cricket League has two divisions with about 5 – 7 teams in each, and Chiba Sharks CC 1st XI play in Division 1 while the 2nd XI play in Division 2. For the Japan Cup, teams are split into two groups of about 4 with the top teams facing off for the finals. Most matches are played at Fuji, Sano and Yokohama. Some friendly matches between Chiba Sharks and other teams are played at Ageo and Koiwa. Indoor Cricket: Chiba Sharks CC also usually participates in a Winter League six-a-side competition in Kashiwa, Chiba.
